Tagging Air Force One

Tagging Air Force One. This was quickly thought to be a real video shot this past month of Marc Ecko tagging Air Force One with the line still free. It has since been proven to be faked and was done by renting a 747 (?), painting one side to look official, and storing it in a hangar waiting to be tagged.

Ecko acknowledged that his company had rented a 747 cargo jet at San Bernardino's airport and covertly painted one side to look like Air Force One. Employees signed secrecy agreements and worked inside a giant hangar until the night the video was made. Ecko declined to say how much the stunt cost.

"It's not cheap," he said. "You have to be rich."

Interesting way to throw away some money.

405 - The Movie

I was shown this video today and wanted to share it with those who have not yet seen it. I won't give much away in the description here but just want to recommend that you watch the video as they did a really good job on it.

UFO - The Best Evidence Ever

UFO - The Best Evidence Ever. This was a TV show that aired on the FX network a few years ago and purports to feature the most conclusive evidence ever of the existence of UFO's. I like though that they opened up the show with a slide saying that there are other interpretations of the video evidence. Kind of ties in with the aviation theme.

F16 low level flying

Here is some ultra low level military activity in F16's blowing stuff up in Norway. Pretty cool action that was probably from a military show as I don't imagine these aircraft are used day to day in operations such as this.

Man skydives with turbine engines

Now this takes balls to do. Imagine straping some small turbines to your legs, jumping from a hot air balloon, and waiting to see what will happen and if the thrust will be too much. This young guy set out to answer that very question and here are the results of skydiving with turbines on your legs.

F14 Sonic Boom

I've already posted a video showing a sonic boom taken from the side of a military vessel. Here is another video similar to the previous one except this one shows the trailing cloud much more vividly.

An absolutely amazing shot taken of this F14.

Not the usual plane landing

This appears to be an older version 737 making what first seems to be a very hard landing. I'm not completely convinced that this video is real as it just seems to have a little bit of fakery in it.

Does anyone have any more details on this video such as the air carrier or type of aircraft?

Airport Through out the Day

I've alwasy enjoyed time lapse videos and this is a good example of why. This is a time lapse video of the gate area of what I believe is a German airport. If anyone knows for sure which airport this is, please leave a comment.

Refueling Accident.

This excellent video demonstrates both the resilience of the Sea Stallion’s main rotor blades and the ease with which you can end up cutting off parts of your own aircraft if you’re not careful. Look at how that refueling basket flops around in the breeze. Between the rotor wash from the helicopter and the prop blast from the C-130’s engines, I’m surprised refueling a helo in flight works at all.

F-15 Midair Crash

There’s nothing like a mid-air collision to ruin your day. In this case, two F-15s try to share the same airspace at the same time. Is it just me, or does the pilot sound a little stressed when he makes his mayday call? (20 seconds, wmv format).

Crosswind landing attempt of an Airbus A321

This is a crosswind landing attempt of a TAP Airbus 321 at Lisbon airport. The landing was aborted and the pilot chose ... all to 'go around.' A 'crosswind landing' is a landing when the prevailing wind is blowing across the runway.
